The Chifley Place precinct is an increasingly popular area for both community recreation and small business activity throughout the week and on weekends. This is driven by quality community infrastructure, urban densification in the surrounding area and small business investment.
The available parking at Chifley Place, Chifley does not cater for the demand in the area and is impacting on access and safety on this popular community and business precinct.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the Assembly to call on the Government to:
Look at ways to improve access and safety across the precinct and at a minimum consider the following improvements:
- Establish an overflow carpark with 60 additional spaces on the unutilised land below Chifley Place
- Place a raised pedestrian crossing between the shopfronts and the park/public amenities.
