Reason for this Petition
This petition of certain residents of the Australian Capital Territory draws to the attention of the Assembly the proposed placing of a 40 hectare, large scale solar generator plant, 50 metres from Uriarra Village and under 100 metres from homes.
Your petitioners therefore request the Assembly to call on the Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development to reject the site proposed by OneSun and ensure that large scale alternative energy plants are sympathetically situated to benefit both the environment and residents of the Australian Capital Territory. We further request that large solar plants not be located in close proximity to residential areas.
