Reason for this Petition

The following residents of the ACT draws to the attention of the Assembly that the proposed KFC drive through at the Gold Creek Village Shopping Centre does not fit with the character of the Village. The Village includes several heritage listed buildings and the ambience of the Village will be dramatically impacted upon by the construction of the KFC situated at one of the two entry points to O'Hanlon Place.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the Assembly to call on the Government to stop the proposed development of KFC. It has taken over 30 years to develop the character of the Village and once KFC neon signage takes a prominent position at one end of O'Hanlon Place, the character of the Village will diminish.
